The working principle is simple but effective. The machine uses a high-speed rotating rotor (or shelling roller) to remove shells from peanuts.
Here is the step-by-step process:
Step 1: Feeding
Peanuts are poured evenly into the feeding hopper, then enter the shelling chamber.
Step 2: Shelling
Inside the chamber, peanuts pass between the rotating shelling roller and a fixed concave screen (or grid plate). The roller rotates at high speed, and peanuts are hit, rubbed, and squeezed, which breaks the shells open.
Step 3: Separation
The mixture of kernels and shells falls through the screen. A fan (or blower) blows air through the mixture. Lighter shells are blown out, while heavier peanut kernels fall down for collection.
Step 4: Grading (optional)
Some models have a vibrating screen that separates whole kernels from broken pieces and un-shelled peanuts. Un-shelled peanuts can be sent back for a second pass.
